Walt Disney's legacy of outreach

In 1987 The Walt Disney Company began building a tourist destination that would become Disneyland Paris. Even before the resort's official opening ceremony, it was already welcoming eager young visitors who were keen to meet Mickey Mouse. The idea then arose of taking Mickey and his friends out to meet children in the local hospitals. These initial outreach events gave birth to a tradition of assisting the community. That tradition still lives on, over twenty years later.
