We favor the use of biological treatments rather than chemical pesticides, because it enables us to better understand the way each local ecosystem works. For example, we use natural pheromone traps to maintain a balance between beneficial and harmful species.
Thanks to innovative methods, Disneyland® Resort Paris has been identified as a pilot site for the testing of new biological methods and practices. We currently collaborate with the University of Rennes and other specialized organizations on related research.

The vegetation at Disneyland® Resort Paris is incredibly diverse. On 155 hectares of green areas, there are 330,000 trees and bushes and 5,443m2 of flowers. Each year, 400,000 flowers are planted and 250 flower baskets suspended. Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch®, located in a forest, boasts 15 tree species and more than 50 different kinds of wildflowers and plants.
The Resort is home to some 60 species of insects, including 15 different types of butterflies, and two species of swallows with more than 200 nests throughout the property. Ten species of fish were introduced to Lake Disney©, including carps that regulate excess vegetation.
